The daffodil arrived in Japan from Europe and was immediately taken more seriously than it had ever been taken anywhere else. In England it grows wild on motorway embankments and people drive past it. In Japan it is arranged with intention, placed with consideration, given the kind of attention that most flowers in most countries never receive. Latte is the color of that attention -- warm, unhurried, the color of something that has been given exactly the right amount of time.
